ACTA (ad archaeologiam et artium historiam pertinentia) is published in a paper and an electronic version. The journal is open access and available free of charge.
About ACTA
The director of the Institute is ACTA’s managing editor, while the librarian acts as editorial secretary. Volumes are usually thematic, and to each number a prominent scholar is invited to serve as guest- or co-editor. The editor is happy to receive suggestions for the theme of future volumes.
ACTA is peer-reviewed. It was first published in 1962, and published both monographs and articles at irregular intervals. In 2004, it became a journal, and is published annually.
From the start, ACTA has been an internationally oriented publication, with articles in English and Italian. Contributions are of high academic quality, and deal with original and central empirical, methodological, theoretical and interpretative issues in or relevant to the archaeology and art history of the Mediterranean region.
