The Norwegian institute in Rome welcomes Marianne Ritsema van Eck as our new post-doctoral fellow. Marianne will develop for the next three and a half years her research project under the title St Helena and the city of Rome: re-inventing the late antique Christian past in early modernity (ca. 1450-1650).

This workshop explores how modern notions of ‘heritage’ can be applied to the study of premodern societies and their views on cultural preservation and transmission.
The course will be given in Rome 20 September - 29 October 2021. Students from all the Norwegian universities are welcome to apply.
