Þóra Pétursdóttir has previously worked and studied at the University of Island (Háskóli Íslands) and UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø.
Much of her research has centered around contemporary archaeology, a rapidly expanding field within archaeology. She has worked with projects connected to the second world war in Finnmark and in Iceland, post-industrial landscapes in Iceland and on the Kola Peninsula, and beach waste on the same geographical areas.
Þóra will, alongside her research, also be teaching and supervising students.
