E-learning course in protection of personal data

All students who are going to process personal data in their master's thesis work or similar, must complete a course on privacy. The course is also mandatory for employees who supervise master's students or PhD candidates.

About the course

The course provides a basic overview of the requirements imposed on both students and researchers. If you handle personal data in connection with your master's thesis, the course is mandatory.

The course ensures that you are aware of your responsibilities when handling personal data and that you are able to follow the obligations arising from law.

Familiarity with GDPR is necessary in almost all workplaces, so the faculty also recommends the course for those students who do not handle personal data in their master's work.

The course is offered in Canvas and is available in both Norwegian and English. It takes 2-3 hours to complete and ends with case-based assignments.

Students can register themselves through this online form (Nettskjema). There is information about this in all program and study direction rooms ("Jobbklar) in Canvas.

If you are a participant and cannot find the course in Canvas, contact the institute's superuser (norwegian).
