Curriculum Vitae

I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at UiO, having obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Naples. Previously, I was a fellow at the University of Milan, the University of Udine and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin. In March 2023 I joined the ERC-funded project Before Copyright: Printing Privileges and the Politics of Knowledge in Early Modern Europe, with the intention of studying the politics and economics of book privileges in the Italian states.

Academic interests

I am a book historian of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, with a focus on Venice and Rome. I situate my research in this field within the broader framework of the history of the Counter-Reformation. I am particularly interested in the intertwining of economic and political institutions and how they affected the production of written knowledge.
