Minja Mitrovic

Interests

In my Ph.D project I research the history of French intellectual property rights in the Twentieth century from colonial perspectives. I am interested in the relations between French royalty collecting agencies and Algerian musicians from the interwar period until the early years of Algerian independence. I look particularly at the protection of Algerian folklore music during the colonial period and IP law as a means of resistance to colonial rule.

I am a part of the ERC-funded project Creative IPR led by PI Véronique Pouillard.
