Academic interests

Dr. James Cameron is Associate Professor of Modern North American History in the Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History (IAKH) at the University of Oslo. His research focuses on the history of arms control from the nineteenth century to the present and the lessons it holds for contemporary policy. James would be happy to hear from students with an interest in the history of U.S. foreign relations, a well as the history of nuclear weapons and arms control. 

Background

James has previously held positions in the Oslo Nuclear Project at the University of Oslo Department of War Studies at King's College London, the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) in São Paulo, Brazil, the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) at Stanford University and Yale University's International Security Studies (ISS). He holds a PhD and BA in History from the University of Cambridge and an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Oxford.
