Sexuality and gender play a significant role in self-identity and in the identification of others. In this context we want to ask the questions: How do we conduct historical research on sexual identity, gender, and othering in ancient societies? What is the current state of research, and what challenges do historians face when conducting this kind of research?
We have invited Giulia Frigerio, Bradley Jordan, and Jorunn Økland for a panel discussion to discuss these topics, and more.
Meet our panel members:
- Giulia Frigerio, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at The Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas.
- Bradley Jordan, Postdoctoral Fellow at The Department of Archeology, Conservation and History.
- Jorunn Økland, Professor at The Centre for Gender Research and Adjunct Professor at The Faculty of Theology.
The event is open for everyone, we wish you welcome!
The event is hosted by master students in connection with the course HIS4050 – Historieformidling.
