Academic interests

My interests include Latin language and grammar, as well as the use of Latin after the Classical period. I have mainly been working with the Latin literature of Medieval Ireland, but my work also concerns the use of Latin in the modern period.

In my Master’s thesis, I explored the relationship between the Irish-language text Immram Maíle Dúin and the Latin Navigatio Brendani, a project which plays into my more general interests in the relationship between Latin and vernaculars, particularly Irish.

Courses taught

In the spring of 2024, I teach:

  • LAT1402 – Cicero (Norwegian)
  • LAT1404 – Latin epic (Norwegian)
  • LAT2105 – Latin grammar II (Norwegian)

Background

I have a BA and MPhil in Classical languages from UiO, where I have also studied Irish philology. Additionally, I have been working as research assistant on the project New Signs of Antiquity, headed by prof. Han Lamers (UiO), on which I now work as researcher.
