Academic interests

I am a PhD candidate affiliated with two projects at the University - Creativity and Convention in Pragmatic Development, and DEVCOM - both of which investigate the development of non-literal language comprehension in children. Each project employs a novel methodology combining both implicit and explicit tasks, to try and map more precisely the effects that growing sensitivity to sense conventions might have on this development.

My own research focuses currently on the syntax-pragmatic interface, particularly regarding the role of word class distinctions in determining meaning, and how this might manifest in acquisition.
