Louise received her master’s from UIO and has now returned as a PhD student. She also has a master’s from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (where she is co-advised).

Her interests lies in ethics, metaethics and their intersections with the philosophy of mind and epistemology. She discovered the GOODATTENTION project after looking into attention in connection with the fittingness of emotions and being convinced of the necessity for an ethics of attention.

At the GOODATTENTION project, she will continue with the work she began at UW. Her project is metaethical in nature and focuses on norms of attention. She takes Iris Murdoch’s account of the ethical role of attention as a starting point, and from there plans to investigate if the norms of attention depend on or support other kinds of norms, both moral and epistemic.

When she is not doing philosophy Louise likes baking, knitting, and snowboarding. She also enjoys playing video games and watching Jeopardy.
