The lecture has three sub-sections. The first section starts from the role of Taiwan businesses in China and will provide perspectives on Taiwan's economic ties with China in general and the role of Taiwan businesses in particular. The second part of the lecture will address Chinese investments in Taiwan and, more specifically, why the scale of Chinese investment has been rather small in Taiwan. The third part of the lecture will discuss why the long-term economic integration between China and Taiwan has not increased the willingness of the majority of Taiwanese to be under Chinese governance.
