Nordic Word Order Database

NWD - Nordic Word Order Database - is an online database hosted by the Text Laboratory at the University of Oslo. The database contains elicited production data from speakers of all of the Scandinavian languages, including several different dialects.

About the database

The NWD data elicitation has been carried out through carefully controlled production experiments that target core syntactic phenomena that are known to show variation within and/or between the North Germanic languages,  e.g., subject placement, object placement, particle placement and verb placement. The recordings of the experiment have been annotated, and the annotations as well as the sound files can be accessed through the database.
