Reading group with Inger Østenstad

The topic for this session is 'Hyperobjects and feelings'.

Inger Østenstad will consider Timothy Morton's theory on 'hyperobjects' together with a passage in Brit Bildøen’s 'Sju Dagar i August' or 'Seven days in August' (English translation coming). The passage describes an everyday Friday evening in the life of the couple Sofie and Otto, and their complex and diverse feelings in this moment, while an episode of extreme weather simultaneously hits Oslo.

Participants are invited to read Timothy Morton's Hyperobjects 2013, especially the chapters 'Viscosity' and 'Nonlocality'. Hyperobjects: Philosophy and Ecology after the End of the World on JSTOR.
