The Department of Special Needs Education, University of Oslo, announces the organization of this training workshop on eye tracking, which will take place in Helga Eng's building at the Faculty of Educational Sciences on May 9–13, 2022. The workshop is open to junior researchers in UiO and other institutions, including doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty.

Jill Locke will introduce her concept of unashamed citizenship (2016) through the case of young women desegregating US schools and extend it to the global climate strike led by Greta Thunberg. She uses her concept of "unashamed citizenship" to re-read young women's activism as deeply connected, intergenerational, and complex struggle rather than the special properties of "girl power" with its tropes and memes of girls' special vision and social power.

Hvilke utfordringer støter man på når man skal gjendikte norsk økopoesi til engelsk? Kathleen Maris Paltrineri, forfatter og gjendikter fra Iowa, vil snakke om sin praksis som gjendikter, om etikk og ansvar ved oversettelse og om gleden over oppfinnsomt språk og poetisk eksperimentering. Hun deler noen dikt hun har oversatt og diskuterer oversettelsesstrategier for disse diktene. Dette blir en tospråklig diskusjon på skandinavisk og engelsk.

MultiLing's Summer School 2020 will take place from 7 to 11 September, 2020. This year, the topic is issues in second language learning and interaction. It will address how language learning is accomplished in conversational interaction and how the development of linguistic and interactional competence may be traced in actual conversational behavior over time.

This year's Summer School is titled Revitalisation and reclamation of Indigenous and minoritised languages. It is a collaboration between MultiLing and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

This course, by PhD Mélissa Berthet, Ecole Normale Supérieure, aims to provide students with basic knowledge in order to understand and conduct research on animal linguistics. We will focus on the basic theoretical concepts of physics, anatomy, ethology and linguistics that are relevant to the field of animal linguistics. Furthermore, this course will introduce (i) how to design an experiment, (ii) data collection techniques and methodology, (iii) methodology of data processing, with a practical course on the Praat and Elan software and (iv) data analysis methods.
