"The Dead are Always With Us": Seminar on John Berger

Stephen Kelly from Queen's University Belfast, will present "The Dead are Always With Us: The Ethics of Writing the Past in the Work of John Berger". 

About the seminar

Staff and researchers in the humanities are warmly invited to a seminar on the British critic and novelist John Berger (1926-2017) by the visiting speaker Dr. Stephen Kelly from Queen’s University Belfast.

John Berger (1926-2017) was an English essayist, art critic and novelist who reached a wide audience with the BBC documentary series Ways of Seeing and his Booker Prize-winning novel G. (1972). His final publications include the collections Portraits (2015), Confabulations (2016) and Landscapes (2016).

Dr Stephen Kelly is Senior Lecturer and former subject lead in English at Queen’s University Belfast. He is currently heading the major Leverhulme Trust-funded research project Whittington’s Gift: Reconstructing the Lost Common Library of London’s Guildhall.
