Practical strategies for publishing in academic journals

Researcher skills: Practical strategies for publishing in academic journals address what is commonly known as "silent knowledge" related to publishing

This course is a part of HF's PhD week.

Course description

The event will be an informal discussion focusing on practical strategies for publishing in academic journals. We will cover various topics, including choosing journals, effectively handling positive and negative feedback from reviewers, important considerations when revising manuscripts, and how to formulate response letters. Our goal is to address what is commonly known as "silent knowledge" related to publishing. The course will therefore draw on the organizer's own experiences and use relevant examples from their own publishing. It is important to note that the purpose of this event is not to prescribe a single approach to publishing in academic journals, but rather to empower PhD candidates to develop their own unique style and approach, taking into account their specific field and discipline.

Professor Rune Karlsen will share his experiences and facilitate the discussions.

Registration

Registration opens 20 February. Candidates admitted to the PhD programme at HF are given priority if signing up before 1 March.
