Congratulations with submitted master thesis!

IMK's students from both master programs joined in for the gathering earlier today celebrating the submission of their master theses.

More than 60 master students of the IMK, their friends and familie members gathered together to celebrate the most important milestone in the master studies: submission of master thesis. Head of Department Maria Utheim welcomed everybody to the gathering:

- Master's thesis is a solid and independent research project and all of you have spent a lot of time and resources on this project. Today we would like to cheer all of you who have spent two years towards your goal - and this goal is finally reached, said Utheim.

Such a good feeling

The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed. The event was attended by students from the Master program in Media Studies, Nordic Media and Journalism.

Many of the IMK's students have already full time jobs, while others are just entering the job market. However, today everybody agreed on one thing: it is good to be through with the master thesis!

Profession in high demand

Keynote speaker, Kjersti Løken Stavrum, CEO Tinius Trust and former journalist, has addressed the question of the power of media in the modern society.

- Journalism is and will be a considerable factor of power in the society. The recent developments in Norway and in the world show us that knowledge about media, knowledge about communication in the society and knowledge about journalism will be more and more important, said Løken Stavrum.
