Responsibility and regulation: Political paradoxes
This seminar is an opportunity to discuss political aspects of digital disconnection. Empirical research will be presented on attempts to regulate and politicise disconnection, wellbeing and the attention economy, and the political implications of disconnection discourse.

At this seminar, we have invited Niall Docherty to talk about a chapter in his forthcoming book. The chapter is titled 'Sinful Scrolling: Discourses of shame and responsibility on social media and their productive political effects'.
Niall is a Lecturer in Data, AI, and Society at the University of Sheffield, and has also been a post doc at Microsoft Research, read more here
The second presenter is Gunn Enli, who will present research on 'Regulation of platforms, screen time and work life – current trends in the Nordics, Europe/the EU and the USA'. Gunn is a Professor at the University of Oslo and a member of Digitox.
The seminar is chaired by Karin Fast from Digitox/Oslo University and Karlstad University.
