The Department of Media and Communication (IMK) is situated in Oslo Science Park (Forskningsparken), Gaustadalleen 21C.

Your student card will work as a keycard which gives you access to IMK’s buildings. For our programme students the student card will be automatically activated within the first 2-3 weeks of the semester.
If you are a new UiO-student you should acquire a student card as soon as possible.
Single unit students or students from other institutes that need access to our buildings, please send us an email every semester with the following details:
- Full name
- Card number (you will find this on the back of your student card)
- Information about what study programme you are admitted to
Please note:
All IMK students have access to the reading rooms, seminar/lecture rooms and group rooms between 07hrs00 and 23hrs00, also on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
After 4 pm on weekdays you will have to use your student card + pin for access to the buildings. On Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays you will have to use your student card + pin for access all day.
