IMK is looking for teaching assistants for autumn 2024 and spring 2025

The Department of Media and Communication has one vacant part-time position on an hourly basis as a teaching assistant for the autumn 2024 and spring 2025 semesters.

About the positions


The work will involve assisting with teaching assignments and follow-up of students on the subject MEVIT4010 – Master’s thesis seminar for media studies (MA). It is required to have oral and written communication skills in Norwegian and English.

 

Information about the tasks in MEVIT4010 – Master’s thesis seminar for media studies

  • To lead writing seminars where the students engage in writing exercises and training in academic writing (this is probably the most important and most comprehensive task)
  • To plan the writing seminars together with the course coordinator with their guidance
  • To correct and provide comments on course assignments
  • To assist the course coordinators during kickoff (August 14 and 15)
  • To evaluate the subject along the way, in consultation with the course coordinator
  • Pedagogical guidance and follow-up by the course coordinator

We are expecting approximately 100 hours of work during the autumn semester, and approximately 20 hours during the early spring semester, as the exam is in February.

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of the first year of a master’s degree at IMK by autumn 2024
  • Good co-operative and organizational skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills in Norwegian and English

Salary in position code 44 (hourly rate of 236 NOK).
