MIDI Room

The MIDI Room is a multi-purpose room used for lectures, composition, and music production. To learn more about how to use the studio facilities, check out the documentation.

The MIDI-room facilities

The MIDI room functions as a lecturing room and a modern sound studio. The teaching area is equipped with a modern 2022 iMac, a projector, and a complimentary AV system. The studio control room is equipped with :

  • 1x iMac (2022 version)
  • 2x Avid Artist Mix-controllers with 8 faders
  • 2x Ghielmetti patch bays
  • 1x Lynx Aurora 16 (AD/DA-converter)
  • 1x Alto HPA4 4-channel headphone preamp
  • 1x Audient 008 8-channel preamp/DA
  • 1x Universal Audio 6176 Tube Preamp (610B) and Limiting Amplifier (1176LN)
  • 1x TLA Mono Valve 5050 preamp and compressor
  • 1x Grace Design amplifier and monitor-controller
  • 1x 8020? Genelec studio monitors
  • 1x Dynaudio studio monitors

 

The room also features a small high-quality recording studio/live room with a well-isolated recording booth. This is connected to the studio control room. The live room features:

  • Various microphones from producers such as Neumann, Brauner, and Sennheiser
  • Upright Yamaha piano
  • Mic stands 
  • Headphones
  • XLR cables 

 

Finally, at the MIDI room desks, each IMV student has access to: 

  • 1x Behringer UMC202 audio interface
  • 1x Small condenser microphone
  • 1x MIDI-keyboard
