Background

Alessandra Ignesti obtained a Ph.D. in musicology from McGill University in 2022. Subsequently, she held a one-year post-doctoral position at the University of Leuven attached to David Burn and Lenka Hlávková’s Central Europe Leuven Strategic Alliance (CELSA) research project ‘Musical Interactions between the Low Countries and Central Europe, 1400-1650’.

She is currently a post-doctoral researcher on Catherine A. Bradley's ERC project BENEDICAMUS, working on the repertory of Benedicamus Domino tropes and substitutes preserved in sources from cisalpine and transalpine areas compiled between the thirteenth and the early sixteenth centuries.
