This course is a part of HF's PhD week.
Course Description
Academics are expected to write articles for peer-reviewed journals and improve their manuscripts based on feedback from peer reviewers and editorial teams. But what is peer review and why is it important? What's the process of peer review like? How do you best deal with peer review and reworking your manuscript?
This course is designed to provide an overview of some of the essential stages in the peer review process. We share peer-review experiences from researchers and discuss a selection of vital dos and don’ts.
Course Preparations
Please prepare by reflecting on your own thoughts regarding the peer-review process.
In class
While drawing on cases presented by established researchers as well as participants’ own experiences, the session will include both small group discussion and plenary reflections. The overall goal is to equip participants with useful strategies for how to deal with the peer-review process.
