Research seminar: Speculative cameras and visual technologies

The seminar will ask what can we gain by turning our attention away from single photographic images, and rather focus on the assemblages within which they are embedded? This turn towards the camera allows us to ask what kinds of interrelations are to be found between photographic practices and the assemblages of devices, people, rules and forms of imaging that they are embedded in? This turn is intended to question the role of the photographer, as well as the role of a single image in understanding the ranges of expanded photographies within which we are embedded.
