Recording Studio U2

IMV's recording studio U2 is a project studio open to all IMV students, equipped with high-quality recording equipment, and one big live room (samspill 2). Examine the documentation to learn more about how to use the room.

The U2 recording studio is a state-of-the-art facility where students can record ensembles (16 channels simultaneously) from our biggest band rehearsal room (samspill 2) and work on music production. 

To make ensemble recording easier, samspill 2 includes a wide variety of shared recording equipment located in a big RUFO flight case. The case includes: 

16 mics:

  • 1x 4-channel Headphone preamplifier

 

The U2 studio control room is located in øverom 3. This room features high-end music production/tech equipment that can be used independently of the live room. NB! Students must bring their own laptops to use in the control room.

In the control room, we have:

  • 1x HP6E headphone preamplifier
  • 1x Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 AD/DA converter
  • 1x Behringer ADA8200 Ultragain Pro Digital 8-channel ADAT converter
  • 16x XLR and Jack channel inputs
  • 1x Radial Workhorse 500-series lunchbox
  • 1x Audient ASP880 8-channel mic preamp
  • 1x Heritage baby-ram speaker selector
  • 2x Dynaudio active studio monitors
  • 1x 64-key MIDI-keyboard
  • 2x KM mic stands (small)
  • 2x Ghielmetti patch bays
  • 2x DT 770 pro headphones
  • All necessary cables.
